Hikmet Hajiyev: The forces spreading anti-Azerbaijani propaganda are enemies of both Turkey and Azerbaijan - VIDEO
Attempts to sow discord between Azerbaijan and Turkey are doomed to fail, said Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration.
"Unfortunately, in the Turkish segment of social networks, and sometimes in a number of media outlets, there are forces spreading unfair, dirty propaganda against Azerbaijan. We consider these forces enemies of both Turkey and Azerbaijan," Hikmet Hajiyev said in an interview with CNN Türk.
"Because our brotherhood is so sacred, for us it is truly a sanctity. We are obliged to cherish this brotherhood, and we do cherish it. We must pass it on to future generations as a legacy," he said.
"However, these people, seeing the strength and might of our brotherhood, are trying through dirty propaganda to damage it, to sow doubts in the hearts of the Turkish people, in Turkey's public opinion. I think they will not succeed in achieving their goals. I repeat once again: this brotherhood came to us as a legacy from our ancestors. And it is our duty to preserve it with dignity and pass it on to future generations," Hikmet Hajiyev emphasized.
