EU allocates another 30 million euros to Ukraine energy support fund

The European Union has allocated an additional 30 million euros to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund, increasing its total contribution to 279 million euros.

This was reported by Ukraine's First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal on the social network X.

According to him, the fund's resources are used to restore energy infrastructure damaged as a result of Russian attacks, purchase critically important equipment for Ukrainian energy companies, and ensure reliable energy supply, especially for critical infrastructure facilities.

"The scale of destruction remains significant. Over the past few months, our energy workers have been restoring electricity supply to 4–5 million consumers every month. As we prepare for the upcoming winter, the need for additional support and equipment continues to grow," the minister noted.

He emphasized that the EU remains one of Ukraine's key partners, including in the energy sector, and expressed gratitude to the European Commission and the European Union for their constant support of the Ukrainian energy system.
