Lavrov responds to Yerevan's complaints: "This stirs emotions in our chests"

Some of the Armenian side's recent complaints against Russia cause surprise and "emotions in the chest," Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in an interview with the RBC television channel.

"We have regular contacts between deputy prime ministers. Any issues of interest to the Armenians can be discussed, including the situation with the South Caucasus Railway, which is held by Russian Railways under a concession. We are surprised to hear how these issues... If they have already arisen, tell your partner how you are reasoning in this regard," the minister said.

"I understand that this stirs, in addition to assessments based on economic analysis, emotions in the chests of our citizens. I am no exception," Lavrov noted.

Answering a question about how, in relations with Armenia, "to avoid the very same mistakes" as was the case with Ukraine, the minister pointed out that on the Russian side "everything has been done." "All our positions and the advantages that Armenia has from participating in the Eurasian Economic Union, receiving energy resources from us 3-4 times cheaper than the prices in the European Union. I proceed from the assumption that there are good economists there," the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry added.
