The second day of the IV International Conference on Mine Action has begun in Baku, at the conclusion of which a declaration will be adopted.

As Report informs, the event is organized by the Mine Action Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ANAMA) together with the UN office in Azerbaijan.

The conference is dedicated to the theme "Humanitarian Demining for Urban Recovery: Setting Standards of Excellence for Safe Settlements."

As part of the event, panel discussions will be held on the topics: "Integrating Policy into Urban Recovery in Mine-Affected Territories," "Technologies and Innovations: For Safer and More Effective Humanitarian Demining," and "Country Case Presentations: National Experience and Lessons Learned in Humanitarian Mine Action." Local and foreign experts, as well as officials, will take part in them.

The conference aims to draw the international community's attention to Azerbaijan's mine problem, strengthen partnerships in the field of humanitarian demining, discuss the role of eliminating the mine threat in the process of safe and sustainable recovery, exchange innovative approaches and best practices, and mobilize international efforts to eliminate the mine danger.

More than 400 representatives from 60 countries are participating in the IV International Conference on Mine Action. At the end of the conference, the adoption of a final declaration is planned.
