Cuba's foreign minister accuses the U.S. of lying

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla has accused U.S. authorities of spreading false information about the terms of oil deliveries to Cuba.

"The U.S. government, in particular Secretary of State Marco Rubio, has systematically lied, claiming that Cuba receives oil for free," he wrote on X.

According to the minister, this is "completely untrue." Rodríguez Parrilla noted that Cuba received fuel on standard international trade terms.

He explained that in some cases the deliveries were made in exchange for the export of medical services, and in others through purchases on terms less favorable than those of the world market. According to the head of the Cuban Foreign Ministry, this was linked to "country risks caused by the hostile policy of the United States."

Earlier, in an interview, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio claimed that the Cuban authorities had allegedly received Venezuelan oil free of charge.
