Iran publishes list of vessels banned from passing through the Strait of Hormuz
Iran's Persian Gulf Supervision Authority (PGSA) has published a list of 77 vessels that violated shipping rules in the Strait of Hormuz and will now face consequences, up to confiscation of the vessel in the event of a repeated attempt to pass through the waters.
"Vessels violating Iranian shipping protocols in the Strait of Hormuz will face restrictions on subsequent transits, including fines, detention or confiscation," the agency said in a statement. Tehran also called on all cargo owners carrying out shipments in the Persian Gulf area to check the list in order to avoid further problems.
The PGSA warned that any vessel cooperating with the listed vessels through ship-to-ship transfers or transshipment will also be added to the list.
