Israeli chief of General Staff: Hamas has been defeated

The chief of the General Staff of the Israel Defense Forces, Eyal Zamir, stated that Hamas has suffered a defeat and been crushed.

As Ynet reports, the statement was made during a closed security meeting held earlier this month.

During the discussion, the head of the research department of the Military Intelligence Directorate, Mizrahi, stated that Hamas still poses a threat.

In response, Zamir noted that, despite the persisting threat, the group's situation has changed substantially.

"That is true. But at the same time, Hamas is a defeated organization," the chief of the General Staff stated.
