Two airports in Poland suspend operations due to missile strikes on Ukraine

The airports of Lublin and Rzeszów in Poland have suspended operations due to the deployment of military aviation.

This was reported by Poland's air navigation agency (PANSA) on the social network X.

According to Reuters, the Polish military stated on September 16 that it was carrying out preventive measures in connection with alleged Russian missile strikes on Ukraine.

A day earlier, Poland's Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz reported that Warsaw had sent army engineering units to the border with Ukraine to reinforce infrastructure.

Prior to that, he stated that Poland was strengthening security at the checkpoints on the border with Ukraine, including building observation and guard posts. The minister cited the threat from Russia as the reason for these actions.

The General Command of the Polish Armed Forces reported that the soldiers are operating within the framework of the "Eastern Shield" program, including the construction of fortifications using special military Hesco bastions barriers.
