Over the past several months, the U.S. military has helped tankers ship about 1 billion barrels of oil through the Strait of Hormuz. This was stated by the head of the U.S. Central Command, Admiral Brad Cooper.

"Over the past several months, 1 billion barrels of oil have been transported through the Strait of Hormuz. We achieved this by supporting more than 2,000 commercial vessels as they passed through the strait," he said in a video address published by Central Command on X.

Cooper added that the United States is "working with partners in the region to strengthen their air defenses and is forming a new coalition strike drone group."

In mid-August, Central Command announced the creation of the first multinational strike drone force in its history, Task Force Falcon Strike. The new unit is expected to employ one-way attack unmanned systems operating in the air, on the water, and underwater. It will include American service members as well as representatives of U.S. partner countries in the Middle East.
