Lukashenko did not mention Pashinyan in his congratulations on Armenia's Independence Day
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko did not mention Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in his congratulations on the republic's Independence Day.
As the press service of the Belarusian leader reported, he congratulated the people of Armenia on the national holiday.
"This significant event — the 35th anniversary of gaining sovereignty — symbolizes the Armenians' aspiration for free and independent development and for preserving their richest culture," the congratulatory message says.
Lukashenko noted that today, when the world is facing serious challenges, time-tested friendly ties become especially valuable. "Minsk and Yerevan are united not only by shared pages of history, but also by sincere sympathy between people, which is a solid foundation for open and constructive partnership," he emphasized.
Lukashenko wished the people of Armenia stability and confidence in the future. "May harmony and joy reign in every home," the Belarusian leader added.
Relations between Belarus and Armenia deteriorated after Alexander Lukashenko's statement on the conflict between Baku and Yerevan over Karabakh, in which he called the operation in Karabakh a war of liberation. Later, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that he would not visit Belarus as long as it is headed by Lukashenko.
