Rubio: Ukraine may have attacked vessels linked to the U.S.
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that Ukraine may have accidentally attacked vessels linked to the United States.
«Over the past few months, ships linked to America and American oil shipments have repeatedly been targeted by Ukraine — perhaps unintentionally, but nevertheless they have been. And this is something that needs to be resolved. We cannot allow this sort of thing to happen,» Rubio said in an interview with Fox News.
He also said that U.S. President Donald Trump would discuss with Volodymyr Zelensky, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, the need to introduce an «energy truce» between Russia and Ukraine.
«We believe it would be an excellent idea — a truce when it comes to strikes on energy infrastructure, under which neither Ukrainian infrastructure nor Russian energy supplies would come under attack. That is the ideal outcome. We support such an option and will propose it to see whether it can be achieved,» Rubio noted.
