Israel announces the elimination in Gaza of the head of Hamas's finance department

The Israeli military eliminated in the Gaza Strip the head of the finance department of the radical Palestinian movement Hamas, Mohammed Abu Alwan.

This is stated in a joint statement by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz.

The targeted elimination was carried out in the city of Khan Yunis in the south of the enclave, the statement notes.

"We will continue to hunt down Hamas commanders and fighters, fight the sources of its financing and destroy its terrorist infrastructure. We will not allow Hamas to rebuild its strength and will not stop until Hamas disappears from the Gaza Strip," the statement says.
