Von der Leyen: EU accelerates Armenia's rapprochement with the European Union
"We are bringing Armenia even closer to the EU, while working toward a peaceful and prosperous South Caucasus.
We are building roads and bridges thanks to our connectivity package worth 200 million euros. And also bridges between people — through our investments aimed at promoting peace.
Our autonomous trade measures will open up new opportunities. Because now 80% of Armenia's exports to the EU market are exempt from customs duties.
We expect the final adoption of these measures by EU legislators as early as tomorrow — in record time.
And, finally, we are strengthening energy security.
Thus, the partnership between the EU and Armenia is developing rapidly, moving forward and becoming stronger than ever," von der Leyen wrote on X.
