Peskov again urges Armenia to decide on participation in the EAEU or the EU

Russia respects Armenia's sovereign right, but at the same time Yerevan needs to make up its mind about its participation in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) or in the European Union (EU), since the standards of these associations are not compatible.

This was stated at a briefing by the press secretary of the president of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Peskov.

"We treat all of Armenia's sovereign rights with respect, but at the same time Armenia is a participant in the EAEU integration process, and a gradual reorientation toward other standards will not correlate with EAEU standards in a wide variety of areas," the Kremlin representative pointed out. "That is what we mean when we say that it is very important to make a choice."

"And it is very important that one of the EAEU member countries does not come into conflict with the rules, regulations and principles of this integration association, which is important for all of us," Peskov emphasized.
