Iran suggests conflict with the U.S. could expand to the Indian Ocean
The combat zone in the conflict between Iran and the United States could expand to the Indian Ocean in the event of renewed American aggression.
This was stated by Rahim Safavi, an adviser to the supreme leader of the Islamic republic.
"Now that the war has spread from the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz to the Red Sea, our response at the next stage of a possible war could make this front even wider — all the way to the Indian Ocean and other regions," the Fars agency quoted him as saying.
"We do not know what is going on in the heads of [U.S. President Donald] Trump and [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu, but our armed forces are competently working through possible scenarios and have prepared their plans even for the worst of them," Safavi emphasized.
