On September 25, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda.

As reported on the official website of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, emphasizing that Azerbaijan and Tajikistan are friendly and fraternal countries, President Ilham Aliyev noted the existence of good opportunities for the progressive development of the potential of bilateral cooperation, touched upon the importance of his visits to Tajikistan and the visits of the President of Tajikistan to Azerbaijan, as well as other mutual visits at various levels in expanding relations.

President Ilham Aliyev said that Kokhir Rasulzoda's visit to our country creates an opportunity to discuss issues on the agenda, including those related to the transport and logistics sphere, economic cooperation, and increasing trade turnover.

Thanking for the reception and hospitality, Kokhir Rasulzoda conveyed to the head of state the greetings and best wishes of President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.

President Ilham Aliyev expressed gratitude for the greetings and asked that his greetings be conveyed to the head of state of Tajikistan. The head of state recalled with satisfaction his meetings and conversations with Emomali Rahmon held in Azerbaijan and Tajikistan, as well as within the framework of international events.

Emphasizing that Tajikistan highly values the friendly relations and strategic partnership with Azerbaijan, the guest noted that thanks to the strong political will of the presidents of both countries and a dialogue based on trust, our cooperation has entered a new stage of development. In this connection, the Prime Minister recalled the "Declaration on Strategic Partnership between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Tajikistan," signed by the presidents of Azerbaijan and Tajikistan in 2024 in Baku.

Kokhir Rasulzoda particularly noted President Ilham Aliyev's personal contribution to the expansion of ties.

Touching upon the significance of the Azerbaijani ASAN xidmət model, the Prime Minister expressed his country's interest in its introduction in Tajikistan.

During the conversation, issues were raised regarding the supply of Tajik goods to international markets in transit through the territory of Azerbaijan via the Middle Corridor, and cooperation in the fields of metallurgy, energy, and agriculture.

It was emphasized that the two peoples are linked by common historical roots. In this connection, the importance of regularly holding mutual cultural, humanitarian, and sporting events was noted.

The Prime Minister of Tajikistan expressed gratitude for the quotas allocated by the Azerbaijani side for Tajik students.

Emphasizing that Azerbaijan and Tajikistan possess great tourism potential, the sides touched upon the importance of opening direct air service between Baku and Dushanbe, and noted with satisfaction the growth in the spheres of tourism and passenger transportation. The significance of holding various events to present the tourism opportunities of our countries was emphasized.

At the meeting, issues of mutual interest were discussed, and an exchange of views took place on the prospects of bilateral relations.
