Trump says the U.S. and Cuba may reach an agreement
U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Washington and Havana will likely be able to reach an agreement and that military intervention will not be required for that.
"I would say that Cuba and we will make a deal. I don't think we'll need the army," Trump told reporters at the White House.
According to him, the United States wants to "help Cuba" and open the country up to Americans.
Earlier, the Trump administration increased pressure on Havana. This year, the United States imposed an oil blockade on Cuba, which has faced a fuel shortage and power outages.
In turn, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez stated at the United Nations General Assembly that the country remains open to dialogue with the United States and to commercial relations with American companies.
