Trump: A record volume of oil was transported through the Strait of Hormuz
A record volume of oil was transported last night through the Strait of Hormuz, U.S. President Donald Trump said.
As 1news.az reports, he told journalists this on the South Lawn of the White House before departing for the state of Illinois.
According to Trump, the volume of oil turned out to be higher than the figures before the start of the U.S. war with Iran. At the same time, the American leader did not specify exactly how much oil had been transported through the strait.
"As soon as the war ends, and that will happen soon, oil prices will collapse, and all prices will go down," Trump said.
He also stated that oil prices are now lower than under the administration of former U.S. President Joe Biden.
According to Kpler, in the past week 33.7 million barrels of oil have already passed through Hormuz; Reuters also reports that on Wednesday the highest daily volume of oil transportation through the strait since the beginning of July was recorded.
