Five men detained in the U.K. near a U.S. Air Force base

Five men have been detained in the United Kingdom following an incident near the RAF Fairford air base, which is used by the U.S. Air Force.

According to British police, the investigation is being conducted under terrorism and explosives legislation.

Law enforcement authorities received a report about three suspicious vans heading toward the base. After that, security measures at the facility were tightened, and explosives specialists were brought in to inspect the vehicles.

RAF Fairford is used by the U.S. military and was previously involved in operations related to strikes on Iran.
