Zelensky reports the death of an Azerbaijani citizen in a Russian attack
Two people, one of them a citizen of Azerbaijan, were killed as a result of a Russian drone attack on the Kyiv region, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on his Telegram channel.
He noted that all night and morning Russia had been striking Ukraine's regions.
"In Kharkiv there was a brutal strike on an apartment building, the second and fourth floors were partially destroyed. There is damage in Kyiv from drone attacks — residential buildings, communications, gas stations. They destroyed an ordinary cafe, tried to burn down a grocery market in the capital. In the Odesa region they struck a vessel flying the flag of Palau. In the Zhytomyr region they damaged an ordinary ice cream factory. There were strikes on residential buildings in the Sumy, Rivne, Kharkiv and Odesa regions. They attacked critically important infrastructure in the Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk, Khmelnytskyi and Zaporizhzhia regions. Emergency services are working everywhere they are needed.
As of now, dozens of injured are known. As a result of the strike on Kharkiv alone, 28 people were injured, among them nine children. Unfortunately, there are fatalities. In the Kyiv region two people were killed, one of them a citizen of Azerbaijan. My condolences to their families and loved ones," Zelensky wrote.
