Attack on patrol in Pakistan: there are fatalities
Three traffic police officers were killed and three more people were injured as a result of an armed attack on a patrol vehicle in the Wazirabad area of the Tank district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in northwestern Pakistan.
As Dawn reports, this was announced by the local police.
According to law enforcement agencies, unidentified individuals opened fire on the official vehicle. Three police officers were killed on the spot, while another police officer and two passersby were injured.
After the attack, the assailants stole the patrol vehicle and fled. Security forces arrived at the scene, and the area was cordoned off. Law enforcement officers launched a search operation to determine the whereabouts of the attackers and to locate the stolen vehicle.
