Rubio: Europe faces serious challenges

The administration of the United States is confident that European countries are facing serious challenges.

This was stated by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio in an interview with the Fox News television channel.

He was asked to confirm that the countries of Western Europe have grown weaker, that they show no commitment either to their own security, when it comes to individual states, or to NATO, and that they also allow mass migration without assimilation. "I want to say that, in my view, Europe faces serious challenges. I gave a speech on this topic earlier this year in Munich at the security conference. You know, a great deal of what exists in our country is Europe's legacy. These are our traditions, our culture, even our democracy and much of what lies at its foundation came from there," the secretary of state emphasized.

Rubio recalled the migration crisis in Ceuta that occurred at the end of July. "The point is that whether in Europe, in the Western Hemisphere, in the United States or anywhere else, no country, no responsible country in the world governed by responsible people can allow its borders to simply remain open and for a flood of all those who wish to enter to pour into the country. You cannot flood countries with migrants," he emphasized.

Rubio noted that in the Western world as a whole and "in the United States under the previous administration" there was an "uncontrolled flow of newcomers." "I have always drawn this analogy: I am not against rain, I am against floods. That is exactly what I would say about [ordinary] migration and mass migration," he concluded.
