Pashinyan participates in Eurasian Intergovernmental Council meeting online
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is taking part in the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council (EIGC) being held in the Belarusian capital via video conference, a TASS correspondent reports.
The EIGC meeting in a narrow format began in Minsk on Friday. The heads of government of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan are present in the hall. The Armenian prime minister, meanwhile, is participating in the event via video link.
Later the same day, a meeting of the council in an expanded format will be held — with delegations and the participation of the leadership of observer countries.
At the current meeting of the intergovernmental council, the heads of government plan to pay special attention to cooperation in the field of logistics. In particular, they intend to update the list of priority integration projects in this area and to discuss the development of electronic document flow at maritime checkpoints. Another topic is food security, to ensure which it is planned to strengthen ties in the agro-industrial complex of the EAEU countries.
The association includes Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
Recall that earlier Pashinyan stated that neither he nor other Armenian officials would visit Belarus while Alexander Lukashenko is president there.
