European Commission: EU will continue to seek termination of Iran's nuclear and missile programs
The European Union will seek the termination of Iran's nuclear and missile programs.
This was stated by the representative of the EU's foreign policy service, Anwar al-Anuni, during a briefing in Brussels.
"The EU's priority is to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons," al-Anuni noted. He also emphasized that the EU will continue to push for the termination of Iran's missile program, which Brussels considers part of Tehran's "destabilizing activities."
Anwar al-Anuni added that Brussels also insists on the full restoration of freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
He did not respond to the question of whether the European Union intends to lift its sanctions on Iran in the foreseeable future.
