The second solo exhibition of artist Jamil Huseynov, titled “Fantazm,” has opened at QGallery in Baku.

The exhibition, which opened on April 23, will be available to visitors until April 28.

The title “Fantazm” reflects the surrealist direction in the artist’s work as well as his bold artistic expression. Through phantasmagoric imagery, the exhibited pieces reveal a delicate — and at times deliberately blurred — boundary between reality and imagination.

Jamil Huseynov was born on December 24, 1987. After completing his bachelor’s degree in interior design, he continued his studies in Florence, widely regarded as the cradle of art, at the Charles H. Cecil Studios. There, he immersed himself in the traditions of classical art and absorbed the creative spirit of the great masters.

After completing a four-year program, the artist returned to Baku, where he continued his artistic journey and held his first solo exhibition at QGallery in 2016.

In the following years, his work evolved under the influence of 19th–20th century Symbolism and Realism. These influences led to notable transformations in his art and ultimately resulted in the emergence of a distinct and original artistic direction.

In 2025, Jamil Huseynov participated in the “Mama Mother Nature” exhibition organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation at the Heydar Aliyev Center. In the same year, he was also named one of the winners of the prestigious international Almenara Art Prize competition.
