Fico, most likely, will travel to Moscow by car
Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico will most likely travel to Moscow for events related to Victory Day celebrations by car, a source in Polish diplomatic circles told RIA Novosti.
Fico previously stated that Lithuania and Latvia have already announced they will not allow the Slovak government plane to fly over their territory for the Victory Day celebrations in Moscow. Later, Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna said that Estonia would again not permit Fico to fly through its airspace to Moscow, as it did in 2025. Poland is still formally considering the request for the Slovak prime minister’s plane to fly over, but the country’s Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski stated on Monday that this issue 'has ceased to exist.'
'It is absolutely clear that none of the countries to which requests were submitted will allow the Slovak prime minister to fly to Moscow through their territory. The theoretical route through Hungary, Romania, and the Black Sea is very long. According to my information, the decision has been made to travel to Moscow by car,' the agency’s source said.
