Kremlin names reason for Victory Day parade in Moscow to be held without military equipment

The decision to hold the Victory Day parade on May 9 in Moscow without military equipment is partly due to the 'terrorist' activity of Kyiv, stated Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of Russia.

'It is about the operational situation,' he said, responding to a question about the reasons why the parade will be held without equipment. He recalled the words of Russian President Vladimir Putin, who said that 'the Kyiv regime, which loses ground on the battlefield every day, has now resorted to full-scale terrorist activity.'

'Therefore, against the backdrop of this terrorist threat, of course, all measures are being taken to minimize the danger. The parade will take place. But let's not forget that last year it was an anniversary parade, large-scale, the kind that should be held on a milestone date,' Peskov said. He emphasized that the current date is not an anniversary. 'But the parade will still take place, albeit in a reduced format,' concluded the press secretary of the president.
