Trump: U.S. will halt ship transits through Hormuz until negotiations conclude
The U.S. administration has decided to suspend the Project Freedom operation, which organizes the transit of ships through the Strait of Hormuz, until information is received that negotiations on a deal with Iran can be successfully completed and an agreement is reached.
This was announced by U.S. President Donald Trump.
He noted that the U.S. received a corresponding request from "Pakistan and other countries."
"We have reached a mutual agreement that, although a full blockade will remain, Project Freedom (the passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz) will be suspended for a short period of time to see if it is possible to complete [the negotiations] and sign an agreement," he wrote on Truth Social.
