USA expects response from Iran on deal proposals within 48 hours
The American side expects a response from Iran on proposals for a possible memorandum to end the conflict within 48 hours.
This was reported by the Axios portal, citing sources.
According to them, the parties are currently closer to an agreement than at any point since the start of hostilities. The potential deal would include Tehran's commitment to halt uranium enrichment for a specified period in exchange for the lifting of American sanctions and the unfreezing of assets. It is noted that these provisions will depend on the parties reaching a final agreement, which would leave the USA room to resume active hostilities or engage in a protracted conflict in case the negotiations fail.
