Dialogue between Armenia and Turkey reaches a level sufficient to yield positive results
Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan believes that the dialogue between Armenia and Turkey has reached a level capable of producing favorable outcomes.
The minister made this statement during a discussion held as part of the international conference 'Yerevan Dialogue.'
'We have an excellent dialogue with Turkey. There have been numerous opportunities for cooperation; just yesterday, our representatives signed a memorandum on the joint restoration of the historic Ani Bridge, located on the border of Armenia and Turkey,' the minister said.
In this context, he also recalled that just a week ago, the third meeting of the working group attempting to restore railway communication between Armenia and Turkey along the Gyumri-Kars route took place.
'In other words, we have many examples of cooperation, but the border, overall, remains closed. We have expressed mutual readiness to establish diplomatic relations, as well as mutual interest and readiness to fully open the border. At the first stage, an agreement was reached to open the border for citizens and diplomats of third countries, but so far, the borders remain closed. Some agreements are being implemented, while others are still in the development stage, but I can confidently say that this will happen, as the Armenian-Turkish dialogue has reached a sufficient level to yield favorable results,' Mirzoyan said.
