US State Department specifies date for new round of Lebanon-Israel talks
The third round of talks between Lebanon and Israel, mediated by the United States, will take place on May 14-15 in Washington, a US State Department representative told RIA Novosti.
Earlier, a diplomatic source informed the agency that during the new round of negotiations, Lebanon hopes to reach an agreement on a complete and immediate ceasefire, which is an absolute priority for Beirut.
Officially, a ceasefire regime remains in place between Lebanon and Israel; however, Israeli aviation and artillery continue daily strikes on Lebanese territory. The Hezbollah movement responds with attacks on Israeli military personnel in the border area.
