Baku demands explanations from Moscow over provocation on 'Channel One'
The display of a distorted map of Azerbaijan in the program 'Time Will Tell' on the Russian state 'Channel One,' with a reference to the non-existent fictitious term 'Nagorno-Karabakh,' is a serious provocation and an unacceptable political manipulation.
This was stated by the press secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Ayhan Hajizade.
'The sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan have been fully restored, and this reality is recognized by the international community, including the Russian Federation. The dissemination on Russian state television of outdated, false, and separatism-encouraging narratives—despite statements from the Russian side that it respects the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan and never questions them—openly contradicts the spirit of Azerbaijani-Russian relations, mutual respect, and good-neighborly relations,' he emphasized.
Ayhan Hajizade noted the unacceptability of the irresponsible and biased approach of state media resources: 'A clear explanation on this matter is expected from the opposite side, as well as the adoption of necessary measures to prevent the recurrence of such incidents.'
