Foreign ministry: Kyiv hopes to open new page in relations with Hungary
Kyiv hopes to open a new page in relations with Hungary and has conveyed signals about this to Budapest through the appropriate channels, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha said.
"We have repeatedly publicly confirmed and conveyed signals through the appropriate channels to our Hungarian partners that we are open to a new page in our relations. We have a package of proposals, we are ready to discuss them with our Hungarian partners," Sybiha said, answering journalists' questions in Brussels, where he arrived for a meeting of EU foreign ministers.
According to him, Kyiv is interested in establishing a dialogue both at the level of heads of the relevant departments and at the level of leaders.
The party led by opposition leader Peter Magyar won the parliamentary elections in Hungary on April 12. Magyar then became the new prime minister of the country.
Kyiv welcomed this fact with enthusiasm, counting on a change in the Ukrainian track in the policy of the new Hungarian authorities.
