WHO detects 11 cases of hantavirus
The World Health Organization has detected 11 cases of hantavirus, nine of which have been confirmed as Andes virus, said WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.
"To date, 11 cases of the disease have been registered, including three fatal outcomes. All cases were detected among passengers or crew members of the ship, nine of the 11 cases were confirmed as Andes virus infections, and the other two are probable," he said at a joint press conference with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez.
