US begins site survey for TRIPP project in Armenia
Vice Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Mher Grigoryan received the team from the American engineering and consulting company AECOM, which arrived in Armenia on behalf of the Global Partnership for Infrastructure and Investment Fund of the US State Department to begin the site survey for the TRIPP project.
According to Armenpress citing the government of the Republic of Armenia, the company presented to the vice prime minister the main direction of work on the feasibility study they are developing and the expected results.
Emphasizing the importance of the TRIPP initiative in strengthening peace and stability in the region, the vice prime minister highlighted the importance of the ongoing work and presented opportunities for unblocking regional communications, noting the great potential for transit of goods and resources through the territory of the Republic of Armenia.
TRIPP is a joint Armenian-American investment project, an agreement on which was reached on August 8 during the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace summit in Washington mediated by US President Donald Trump. TRIPP will also provide a connection between the main part of Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan.
