Xi Jinping tells Trump that there are no winners in trade wars

Chinese President Xi Jinping told visiting US President Donald Trump in Beijing that there are no winners in trade wars.

"Facts have repeatedly proven that there are no winners in trade wars," Xi Jinping said, according to China Central Television.

The leaders of the two countries are holding talks on Thursday in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing as part of Trump's state visit to China from May 13-15.
