At least two people were killed as a result of a magnitude 5.2 earthquake in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in southern China.

As a result of the seismic activity in the Liunan district of Liuzhou city district, at least 13 residential buildings collapsed. More than 7,000 people were evacuated after the earthquake. Four were hospitalized.

The epicenter of the earthquake was located in the Liunan district of Liuzhou city district. The focus was at a depth of 8 km.

This earthquake became the strongest in this area over the past five years. The China Earthquake Administration activated the third of four emergency response levels for the earthquake, where the first is the highest.

More than 4 million people live in Liuzhou.
