There is a crossing, but not quite: AYNA commented on the blogger's sarcastic video

Blogger Rasul Zaidov shared a notable video on his social media page. In the footage, he sarcastically talks about how he tries to cross the roadway in accordance with traffic rules - at a pedestrian crossing.

According to him, the road markings only reach the middle of the roadway and suddenly end there. Judging by the video, this section of the road is located in the Khatai district of Baku, near the "Amay" shopping center. Because the "zebra" ends halfway, pedestrians trying to cross the street find themselves in an extremely difficult and dangerous position.

Given that such shortcomings directly endanger people's lives, the 1news.az editorial team contacted the relevant agency responsible for applying road markings - the Azerbaijan Agency for Land Transport (AYNA).

"There are pedestrian crossings at the specified location to ensure comfortable and safe movement of pedestrians. This lane is not intended for pedestrians to cross to the opposite side of the road, but for their movement towards the 'Amay' shopping center through the safety island. Road users must comply with the requirements of road signs and marking lines," the Agency noted.

We were also provided with video material that clearly demonstrates how the markings are applied on this section of the road and how exactly pedestrians should use them.
