Minister: we strive to bring the problem of the Caspian level decline to the international agenda
“Azerbaijan is a country with rich biodiversity.”
As APA reports, this was stated by Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan Rashad Ismayilov at an international event dedicated to World Environment Day (WED) taking place in Baku.
According to the minister, recently the country has managed to expand the area of specially protected natural territories by more than 10%.
“Today we solemnly celebrate World Environment Day. One of the main problems is the decline in the level of the Caspian Sea — the pearl of our region. We continue work on bringing this issue to the global agenda,” the minister noted.
