Two strong earthquakes occur off the coast of Kamchatka
Two perceptible earthquakes with magnitudes of 5.6 and 6.3 occurred off the coast of Kamchatka.
According to the Institute of Volcanology and Seismology of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the first tremor was recorded on June 19 at 06:51 UTC. According to the Kamchatka branch of the Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences, its magnitude was 5.6, however, according to experts, the earthquake felt stronger.
Later, a second earthquake with a magnitude of 6.3 occurred off the coast of Kamchatka. The epicenter was located 183 kilometers from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, and the hypocenter was at a depth of 15.4 kilometers.
According to a preliminary estimate, the intensity of the tremors in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky was 4 points.
