Katz imposes sanctions against IRGC crypto wallets linked to Hezbollah
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz signed sanction orders against 37 digital wallets that, according to the defense ministry, were used by the Iranian "Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps" to finance the Lebanese terrorist organization "Hezbollah".
The National Headquarters for Economic Warfare against Terrorism at the Ministry of Defense, together with the Israeli intelligence community, identified a financing infrastructure based on the use of cryptocurrencies. According to the defense ministry, through it the IRGC transferred funds intended for terrorist activities.
The total amount of funds associated with the identified digital wallets exceeds 24 million shekels. The defense ministry states that the sanctions are aimed at blocking financial channels through which Iran supports "Hezbollah" and other terrorist structures.
