Remains of Ali Khamenei delivered to Tehran

The remains of former Supreme Leader of Iran Ali Khamenei have been delivered to the religious complex "Musalla of Imam Khomeini" in Tehran.

This was reported on July 3 by the Mehr agency.

"The leader's body, along with the bodies of his companions, was transported to Tehran's Musalla early Friday morning and placed in the main prayer hall ahead of a two-day public farewell ceremony," the publication on the site states.

The agency published footage showing people gathered at the pavilion raising their hands and passing over their heads a coffin in the colors of the Iranian flag. It is noted that more than 20 million people are expected to participate in the nationwide mourning ceremony.
