Tens of thousands of Iranians take to the streets of Tehran for processions in memory of Khamenei

Tens of thousands of Iranians joined the processions on the streets of the capital with national flags, portraits of the deceased supreme leader of Iran Ali Khamenei and his successor - Mojtaba Khamenei, reports a TASS correspondent.

Armed police posts stand at intersections, and participants in the processions are provided with water and sweet drinks. To ease the effects of the heat, water is sprayed from fire hoses over the columns of Iranians. People come out to the processions with their families, including with infants in strollers; Iranians of different ages and professions are on the streets. Among the participants there are many women in traditional hijabs and young people.
"The reason for our victory is the will to resist. They lost on all points, in political, military, and economic terms. Our leader continued to unite people even after his death. America should not have attacked us," said 52-year-old Samii, a builder from Isfahan.

The farewell to Ali Khamenei, who died as a result of American and Israeli strikes, began on July 3 in Tehran. High-ranking delegations from at least 100 countries are taking part in the mourning event.
From July 4 to 5, the body of the ayatollah will be at the Mosalla of Imam Khomeini, the largest religious complex in Tehran, where anyone can say goodbye to him.
On July 6, a mourning procession will take place in Tehran along the main streets, after which the body will be delivered to the main religious center of the country, the city of Qom, where mourning ceremonies will be held on July 7. On July 8, the body of Ali Khamenei will be sent to Iraq, where separate farewell ceremonies for local Shiite Muslims will be held in Karbala and Najaf. The burial will take place on July 9 in his hometown of Mashhad.
