Russian defense ministry proposes Ukraine introduce temporary ceasefire in Konstantinovka on July 6

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation has officially approached the Ukrainian side with a proposal to introduce a temporary ceasefire regime in the city of Konstantinovka, Donetsk region, on July 6 from 12:00 to 18:00 Moscow time (from 13:00 to 19:00 Baku time). The purpose of this initiative is stated to be the conduct of a humanitarian action. The Russian military department emphasized that they are ready to carry out the transfer of the bodies of deceased Ukrainian servicemen in this settlement.

To coordinate the conditions for the action, Moscow has set strict time frames, expecting an official response from the Ukrainian side through existing channels of special services by 12:00 Moscow time (13:00 Baku time) on July 5, 2026.

The situation around Konstantinovka remains extremely tense. Earlier, the defense department of the Russian Federation stated that the city had come under full control of Russian troops. In turn, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) issued an official statement in which it refuted information about the surrender of the settlement and the loss of control over the city.
