Secret documents of the British Ministry of Defense were discovered at a municipal landfill in the English county of North Yorkshire.
The materials were accidentally found by a passerby. The landfill where the papers were located is about 4 km from Catterick Garrison - the largest British army base, which houses about 13 thousand servicemen.
According to the publication, the found materials contained information about personal data of servicemen, weapons storage, guard shift schedules, safety violations and emergency response protocols. In connection with the incident, the Royal Military Police immediately launched an official investigation. In turn, an official representative of the British army stated that, according to a preliminary assessment by specialists, the documents found at the landfill did not contain secret information related to the operational defense of the country.
