President of France Emmanuel Macron will arrive in Damascus on the evening of July 6 for an official visit and will discuss with his Syrian counterpart Ahmed al-Sharaa ways to strengthen bilateral relations.

This was reported by the Al Hadath TV channel.

According to its information, Macron will be accompanied by a delegation that will include major investors and representatives of the business elite.

In a statement previously released by the office of the head of the Arab republic, it was noted that France supports the efforts of Syria's transitional government for post-war recovery and reconstruction. As emphasized in the text, in order to expand mutually beneficial partnership, al-Sharaa and Macron "will hold a roundtable with the participation of Syrian and French companies."

The office noted that Damascus and Paris are committed to political dialogue at the highest level, which began after al-Sharaa's visit to France in May 2025. During the upcoming negotiations, events on the regional and international arenas will be discussed, as well as prospects for bilateral cooperation in various fields, the text stated.

Macron will become the first Western leader to visit Syria after the change of power in Damascus in December 2024.
