Iran accuses US of violating memorandum of understanding

The United States, having decided to launch new strikes on Iran, grossly violated the fundamental points of the memorandum of understanding between the two countries.

This is stated in a press release from the foreign ministry of the Islamic Republic.

"These aggressive attacks are a flagrant violation of point 1 of the memorandum of understanding, which provides for the cessation of military operations," the document says.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry emphasized that "the responsibility for the dangerous consequences of the escalation of tensions [in the region] lies with the United States, which is violating its obligations."
