Trump on Iran: they have funerals, but they decided to launch missiles
The latest strikes on Iran were significantly harsher than previous retaliatory actions, U.S. President Donald Trump said at the NATO summit in Ankara.
"The operation was carried out very powerfully. We struck very dangerous people in Iran. These are sick people who are engaged in funeral matters [apparently referring to the farewell ceremony for Ayatollah Khamenei], but instead they decided to launch missiles at ships, and last night we delivered a very powerful strike on them," Trump said.
"We struck 20 times harder. We said: when you strike, we will strike back. They play dirty, I don't like them, these are bad people," he added.
Stating that the United States will not allow Iran to acquire nuclear weapons, the U.S. president noted: "We will achieve the denuclearization of Iran. In the past, they killed thousands of our soldiers."
Commenting on the situation around the ceasefire with Iran, Trump stated: "The ceasefire with Iran has ended.
We are fighting liars. They have gone crazy, something is wrong with them. They are just wasting time."
