"I'm angry at NATO": Trump says US spent $1 trillion protecting alliance countries but received no needed support from them

I'm not very happy with NATO, US President Donald Trump stated.

At the NATO summit in Ankara, the American president noted that the US over the last "short time" spent 1 trillion dollars "to protect these countries from Russia."

"We covered 100 percent of NATO. Some countries paid nothing at all. I called Britain, spoke with Germany - they didn't want to help us [on the Iran issue]. Some small countries wanted to help because they are very vulnerable," Trump said.

"Although I'm angry at NATO and pay millions of dollars, I say that they are acting unfairly. But we will solve this one way or another," he added.
