According to the published information, the plane carried 34-year-old defender Danilo of Brazil's Flamengo, known for his performances with Spain's Real Madrid and England's Manchester City. Only he chose to fly by charter to Brazil; the remaining players left the World Cup and flew off on vacation.
National team head coach Carlo Ancelotti flew to Canada, where he has a home.
In the round of 16, Norway defeated Brazil 2:1. Erling Haaland scored a brace in the 79th and 90th minutes. In the 90+10th minute, Neymar converted a penalty to narrow the gap, but it did not save Brazil.
The World Cup kicked off on June 11 and runs through July 19 in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. The defending champion is Argentina, which defeated France in the 2022 final.
